E-learning for inclusive classrooms
One of the strongest examples of her commitment to inclusive learning came through a state-level research project funded by the Centre for Disability Studies, Government of Kerala. The study examined the effectiveness of e-learning for students with reading and writing disorders in English. Rather than treating technology as a general classroom tool, the project explored how carefully structured digital learning could respond to the needs of children who often struggle within conventional teaching systems.
Dr. Jose's work also stands out because of the technical skills she has developed alongside her academic expertise. Her knowledge includes PHP, JavaScript, Python and SQL, together with platforms such as Moodle and Joomla and analytical tools including SPSS and R. She has used this combination of education and technology to develop virtual learning environments and online learning programmes, including work connected with international teaching practices associated with the University of Hull, UK.
From research fellow to teacher educator
Her academic foundation began with a Master's degree in English from Mahatma Gandhi University, followed by an M.Ed. completed with distinction. In 2000, she was selected as a UGC Junior Research Fellow at the Regional Institute of Education, Mysore. That period of doctoral research strengthened the areas that would later define much of her professional work: e-learning, special education and English language teaching.
Her contribution extends equally to writing, research and professional development. She is the author of English Education: Theory and Practice, a textbook developed for B.Ed. English language teacher education, and has published research in national and international academic journals. Her role places her directly within teacher education, where the influence of one educator often extends into hundreds of future classrooms.
