What happens when someone who started in a Gujarati-medium school decides that education should not just prepare students for exams, but for careers, problem-solving and an AI-driven future?

Dr Amar Panchal has spent over 17 years answering that question — building a career at the intersection of technical education, corporate training and career development. With more than 30,000 hours of training delivered and over 23,000 students mentored, his work represents one of the most sustained individual contributions to practical technology education in India.

From the Ground Up

Panchal's journey began in a Gujarati-medium school — far from the English-medium, metro-centric environments that dominate India's technology sector. He pursued a Diploma in Computer Engineering, followed by a BE in Computer Engineering from L&T Institute of Technology (LTIT), Powai. He went on to complete an ME in Computer Science with distinction and a Master's degree from the University of Texas at Arlington before earning his PhD in Computer Engineering.

This academic trajectory — from a regional-language school to advanced research — is not just a personal achievement. It informs his entire philosophy of education: that where someone starts does not have to determine how far they can go.

Corporate to Classroom

Before dedicating himself fully to education, Panchal spent 15 years in the corporate sector, progressing from Senior Developer to Project Manager to Senior Consultant. His technical expertise spans Java, SAP ABAP, Python and data science — a range that reflects both the breadth of his skills and the evolving demands of the technology industry.

This corporate background shapes his approach to teaching. Unlike purely academic educators, Panchal brings first-hand knowledge of what employers actually need, what projects actually demand and where the gap between classroom learning and professional readiness typically lies.

Building Education Ventures

Panchal has channelled his experience into building education platforms that address this gap directly. In 2017, he founded TechnoGurus, an offline training platform for diploma and degree students focused on practical, employability-driven learning.

During the pandemic, he launched Accelerate Persona, an online platform that extended his training model to learners across India and beyond. The shift to digital allowed him to reach students in smaller cities and towns — the same communities he himself came from.

At Career Credentials, the EdTech venture he co-founded, Panchal integrates innovation, industry expertise and digital technologies to deliver learning experiences that bridge the gap between academia and industry. He also serves as Technical Head at Campus Credentials, working to connect educational institutions with professional opportunities for their students.

Teaching Philosophy

Panchal's teaching philosophy is built on a straightforward principle: students should learn technology not only to pass exams, but to solve problems, build skills and create careers. His curriculum spans foundational computer science — data structures, operating systems, shell scripting — alongside emerging areas like prompt engineering and agentic AI.

This combination is deliberate. By grounding students in fundamentals while exposing them to the latest developments in AI and automation, Panchal prepares learners for an industry that rewards both depth and adaptability. His teaching emphasises problem-solving over rote memorisation, real-world application over theoretical abstraction.

As he puts it: "Teaching isn't just a job, it's my passion. Every award shows student potential." The statement captures a consistent theme in his work — that recognition is not about the educator but about what students are capable of when given the right foundation.

Recognition and Impact

Panchal's contributions have earned significant recognition. He received the Maharashtra Ratna 2023 for educational service and the Rashtriya Abhiman Puraskar 2023 for national influence in education. He was named Most Dynamic Teacher at the Global Education Award 2022 and featured in Mid Day's Top 5 Promising Education Brands of 2023 for his work in coding education and IT mentoring.

He is a world record holder, a TEDx speaker and has been honoured as part of the Legacy of Teachers 2025 initiative by SocialCraft24 Solutions. He has also been recognised among the Top 100 educators in the country and as a Top 10 emerging brand in education.

These recognitions span regional, national and global platforms — reflecting the breadth of his impact across different levels of the education ecosystem.

The Larger Mission

What sets Panchal apart is not any single achievement but the consistency of his mission over nearly two decades. From corporate consulting rooms to online classrooms, from a Gujarati-medium school to international platforms, he has remained focused on a single objective: making technology education practical, accessible and career-oriented.

In an era where AI is transforming the skills landscape faster than most curricula can adapt, educators like Dr Amar Panchal — who understand both the technology and the teaching — are not just valuable. They are essential.
